Video Compressor

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 13 August 2026

Your videos never leave your device. Compression runs locally on your iPhone or iPad using Apple's own media frameworks. We have no servers that receive, store or process your video files, and we cannot see them.

What we do collect is a small amount of anonymous usage data about how the app itself is used. This page explains exactly what that is.

Who we are

This policy covers the iOS app Video Compressor and this website. If you have any question about it, write to support@sazonau.com.

What the app does not collect

What the app does collect

Anonymous usage analytics

To understand which parts of the app are used and where people get stuck, the app sends anonymous product events to Amplitude, an analytics provider acting as our data processor. These events contain:

These events never include file names, video content, thumbnails, or anything else identifying the material you compress.

Configuration requests

When it starts, the app downloads a small configuration file from videocompressor.sazonau.com (the file that sets things like the free-usage limits). Like any request to any website, this reaches our hosting provider, Cloudflare, which may process standard technical log data such as IP address, timestamp and user agent for security and delivery purposes. We do not build user profiles from these logs.

If you email support

When you write to support@sazonau.com we receive your email address, your message, and anything you choose to include (for example a description of your device). We use it only to answer you.

Access to your photo library

iOS asks for your permission before the app can see your videos. The app uses that access for two things: reading the videos you pick so it can compress them, and saving the compressed copies back to your library. Deleting the originals afterwards is always your choice, and iOS shows its own confirmation before anything is removed — deleted items go to Recently Deleted in Photos, where they remain recoverable for about 30 days.

You can review or withdraw this permission at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos.

Purchases

Subscriptions and the one-time lifetime unlock are sold through Apple's In-App Purchase system. Apple processes the payment and tells the app whether an active entitlement exists; we receive no payment information. Apple's handling of your data is covered by Apple's Privacy Policy.

Legal basis and retention

Where the GDPR applies, we process the analytics data described above on the basis of our legitimate interest in understanding and improving the app, and support correspondence on the basis of answering your request. Analytics events are retained by Amplitude under our account for as long as they remain useful for product analysis; support email is kept as long as needed to resolve your issue.

Your choices and rights

Children

The app is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the new version appears on this page with a new date at the top. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
